Kawasaki MT1 electrical

#1
I have a 1971 MT1 Kawasaki, originally purchased by my uncle new. It still runs great however it burns out the lights as soon as it is throttled up, Anyone have any ideas as to what may be the issue? the bike is all original, I have had it for a long time myself.

It may not have all of the lights on it, or some may be burned out. Most of these bikes were unregulated and created just the right amount of power to run all of the bulbs. If any of them burn out or are removed, the remaining bulbs will receive too much voltage and burn out. If you can’t create enough of an electrical load to keep the bulbs from burning out, you could install a voltage dump style regulator.

If it blows 6 volt bulbs, put 12 volt bulbs in it.
Or like @DaddyJohn suggested, make sure all of the original bulbs are there. Maybe somebody removed the turn signals, markers, tail light...
When one is removed, or one burns out the rest pop really soon after that.
