Doodlebug Motor Upgrade Kit

Hey Guys,
I've got a DB30 Doodlebug minibike. I've been riding it, however I am 210 lbs. Just not enough motor (or clutch) to pull me around very well - especially from a stop. I really didn't expect it to, knowing my size exceed its intended design. But, I ran across member cjtmini who sells a 6.5HP upgrade kit with motor mount spacer and clutch. So I bought one and put it on. This is the most complete kit I have ever seen. It comes with a step by step picture book, for a foolproof installation. One hour later I fired-up the new motor on the Doodlebug. WOW, WOW, and WOW......I just barely cracked the throttle and I was off and running! What use to be just barely enough power to get me around, has now turned into a Fun - Fast minibike with power to spare. Thanks cjtmini for putting your great kit together. I would recommend one to every Doodlebug owner! IPD Dave

I don't think it'll go faster.3600rpm is the same no matter what engine you use.But with 6.5hp,you'll get there a lot quicker. If you can live with a bit less take-off power, changing the sprockets will give you more speed.

OR........

You can do work on the engine to get more rpm. That will give you more speed. But be careful to do it right. If it's not done right you can turn a 6.5hp motor into a 6.5hp grenade in no time.
