Modified Lifan on the Baja DB30

Heres a couple pics of the Very Bad A$$ Lifan 6.5 mounted on the DB30. This one is running a stock carb with the UNI intake and a #90 Jet. The Govener has been completely removed as well as the low oil sensor. The pipe is a 1" High flow that I fabbed. It exits just under the grab bar.

I say Bad A$$ because these things run great! I have 3 now and they all fired up on the first choke pull. right out of the box! They also have tons of power when unleashed! For the money, nothing can touch these. Got my carb upgrades from AGK. Getting ready to build another engine with a mikuni.
This thing is scarry fast. Note: fender damage from "wheelies gone wild"

OK, Your right. It's about as special as your gay avitar. These are minibikes. And the point is it runs much better now than with the stock engine it came with. I'll try to refrain from sharing any excitement in the future.

Love the cherry bomb sticker
How do you like those tires? Mine came with the more usual knobby dirt tires and was wondering if those handled better on the street.
nice job on the motor conversion. I seen some people cutting the bar the front of the rear fender mounts on I think to fit the motor. Did you do anything different?

The pipe is cool looking I wish I had a bender. Check mine out I lowered the fenders doesn't do anything cool but thought it looks a lot better just an idea if you are bored like I was.
I call it the Wussmachine cuz it still has the weak 2.5hp slug. Works good for the flats though.

Great job Tripp. Frank, it doesn't "look" like he did anything extra. He didn't remove the rear fender support as some of us have done. Only thing I see that he could improve on is the same thing I did the first time I installed a bigger engine. It's not "wrong" or anything. But it will balance out the bike a little better. Put the clutch on backwards (drive gear on the inside), and move the engine over left. The fuel cap will end up kinda under the backbone tubes, but it'll be more centered on the frame (won't stick out so far), and will look a little better IMO. Still, like I said before, great job!!!! Rudy.

Nice Job,Tripp.A bigger engine is exactly what th DB needs to bring it to life. And you keep sharing your work with us.The experience of others is what helps newbies become skilled builders.

I agree with Rudedog.I did my upgrade with the clutch reversed. It actually helped balance the bike a bit better, with the engine more centered. While the gas cap is tucked a bit under the frame,it's not out of reach.

And Jesse.Don't get the impression that I'm dumping on you(certainly not my intention),but unless someone is building a bike specifically to impress others(as in restorations or show bikes),it doesn't have to look special. My DB is even less fancy than Tripp's(mine has a purely stock 5.5 clone),and to me it's a fine piece of two-wheeled work.

Wether for show or go,every bike build means something to someone.
