skid plat idea on a db6.5

i did the 6.5 conversion a while ago, i just got the gas tank done yesterday and i rode most of today. ive been riding in a good foot of leaves and i noticed i get high centered on hidden rocks and logs. what do yall think of a skid plate? and some sort of bottom end chain guard to stop the chain form hitting things after i slide over them? there was something else too but i forgot

a skid plate will give you less clearance than you have now. i'd quit riding where i can't see what i'm riding on/over. it doesn't seem very safe bombing around in a foot of leaves hitting rocks and what not.

well its my back yard, i have a pretty good idea where stuff is. on the db there is a cross member that holds the engine i was thinking id just run some angle iron from that to the front cross member and bolt a piece of 1/8 or 3/16 plate to that
