Who throws away a running motorcycle? Some people...

I didn't want to sidetrack your project when I asked about the Hodie forks...but if you don't end up using them I appreciate you giving me a shot at buying them.

I've seen a lot of cool stuff drawn on cocktail napkins...ideas and beer flow together.

I got a little farther on the manitou forks...I loved those things back in '91...now I grab them at fleas any chance I get.

Yeah, I know. I wish I had those Hodakas right now. :001_unsure: I'm used to the newer bikes, but that old stuff is still fun without a doubt. I love history.

No problem on the forks. This thread is mostly mine and I suppose you can ask whatever questions you like. I certainly don't mind replying if I have an answer.

I know of a few places to get bike frames, so maybe I'll got out on Sunday exploring options. Stay tuned.

This half-size chopper project of yours would look good as a step-by-step in the projects section...if you wanna show it off and have the time to write it up.

Those things are really popular... it might help someone else build one of their own if they can see how it's done.

I was thinking of doing another one of those Azusa kit bikes as a posted project...they don't actually just bolt together as easily as Azusa would like customers to think.

I don't know that it will qualify as a minichopper, but documenting the build wouldn't be much effort.

I've been looking at pictures of dragbike frames and it doesn't look too hard to make similar modifications to smaller bike. Makes me wish I still had my old Honda SL100 that I sold for $65(and bought for 75).

This is another example of why I asked you about the Hodie forks...you've got a reputation for selling cool stuff way too cheap.

If you find a frame you want to stretch, hit me up for some stepped sleeves...my buddy and I stretched this frame, fork and handlebars (see pic) with stepped sleeves we made on a lathe from scrap I have laying around.

That goes for everybody else too...I've got lots of scrap. I have a post up on the minidoodle.com forum for sleeves and bushings...cost of mailing only, if I have the scrap to make them from.

65shelbyclone there is a guy name JD that works for SI-valves. He built a minidragbike frame that my buddy bought for extremely cheap. They are cheaper to build if you know how to do it. He said it was his first try, and it looks just like the real thing.

He is near the Budweiser brewery in Van Nuys.

Since I'm cheap, I guess that means I'll build my own.

Got my modded injector and intake spacer collar back today.

That's a bung originally from a steel fire extinguisher case. Fits on 1/2" NPT threads pretty well. It will get welded in place and be used as a base for the throttlebody adapters. I also have to somehow blow a 1/2" hole through all that steel for the second injector bung. Ought to be fun drilling through that big weld bead.

Cheapness knows no limits!

I have some old paintball marker CO2 cylinders that were out of cert and not worth hydrotesting. The test costs $25-40, but a new bottle is only $18 with a free fillup, so I dismantled and cut up an old one. the 9oz cylinder just happened to have the 2" o.d. I needed, so I'm going to use the bottom end of that as a 2" to 1.125" reducer for the throttle body. I drilled a 15/16" hole in what used to be the bottom of the CO2 bottle and let me tell you.....it was hard work. Chromemoly steel is tough stuff!

I also may be getting an intercooler and blowoff valve.

Hey 65shelbyclone your going to have to try and make it to the Long Beach swap meet once a month. I picked up a bunch of special tooling tools. But they had all kinds of misc stuff you would have loved.
