deezildennis, looks to be a deluxe model with 4hp motor and lights. i have only seen couple of them with briggs motors. most of them have tecumseh's.
i just pick up a 3hp tecumseh model with out lights. bike on ebay will probable go for $300-$500?. that model can bring in good money sometimes? will have to keep a eye on that one.
i could by another 3hp model on my local craigslist?

All three of mine have the Briggs engines and the Fake tank/seat combo.
They are pre-66 models. I think two of these guys bid against the one guy that bought the last one for $1500 + Im wondering if this one wont surpass the $500 mark.

Deez....What criteria do you use to determine what year a particular campus bike is? Do you know in what year Fox began welding the tailight bracket onto
the frame instead of incorporating it into the rear of the seat. This guy says that his is a 64 but I'm thinking the 64's did not use the welded on bracket. I've
sent him two emails about the year and so far...no response. Let me know what
your thoughts are on model year identification. Tnx.....Ogy

His bike does look to have the later model light and the welded on rear light bracket. I think all years of the springer campus mini's had that same bracket for the taillight. If I Am not mistaken my plastic seats cover it and the light is attached to it through the plastic seat. His model is the 1348 I believe.

If you just got a padded seat and not the plastic fake tank/seat combo I think you still got that bracket on the Lighted bikes for all years of the sprung campus bikes. Non lighted bikes I think just got the License plate bracket.

They used Briggs engines before they used the Tec's and from old brochure ad's you can see print dates showing the older models with the B&S's.

As for the light..... Who knows.. The Earlier campus bikes was different, BUT they used that same style light on the real early sprites so..........? It isn't chrome like it should be on the back side and it should have a switch on the top of it, old or newer style no matter what.

The last Campus I got was from the original owner that got it in late 1964 and he stated that the headlamp rusted out quickly and he replaced it with almost that exact same one that's on the bike in the auction. It may have been a standard off the shelf part from that time period.

Deez....I had a 64 campus that I bought new in 1964....fake gas tank (used to
cover up the 6v battery....tailight and license plate bracket protruding from and
attached to the seat....and no welded-on bracket. I'm betting the farm that his
bike is a 1967 or there abouts model 1376. Any other campus enthusiasts care
to weigh in on this one? Ogy.

deezildennis,i was kind of wondering too if that was a early bike?
only the early model had the option blue fake tank and it had to be a briggs motor and the tecumseh's where white tanks?
did they ever make a model with blue fenders and chain cover? even the headlight is different?
i live in wisconsin and fox's are dime a dozen, but never seen one like this add before?

tecumseh with a fake white tank

they sure are a nice looking minibike
are ups driver that comes into are work is a older guy and he was telling my about test riding new fox minibikes in the early 70's at the janesville plant where they made bikes. that would have been cool to do

Delray....that headlight with the squarish back is the correct one for the 64 campus....I had one....remember it clearly....mine was a 3hp B&S....white fenders, chain guard, and cowling. The seat was lighter shade of blue. That fake gas tank was used to hide the battery. Briggs' did not have electric. Never saw one with blue fenders and or cowling. Wish I lived in Wisconsin....got
to be hundreds of ex Fox employees whose brains could be picked...tnx...ogy

Just noticed it has a differant front wheel than my bikes as well. Its the later wheel on the 66 and newer bikes.

I Wonder if this is just one of the last bikes with the B&S engine on it and when they started changing a few things around.....?

Still pretty nice that its mostly complete.
