Which Engine to use on my Manco Streaker?

Ok, it is time to decide on a motor to put on my little bike. Here is a pic of the bike now, and the 3 choices I have.

3 horse briggs with updraft carb.

3 1/2 that came with it.

Or, 5 horse ohc tech enduro

I love those updraft carb Briggs engines...solves those fuel tank/rear tire clearance issues found on a few of the smaller vintage frames...

Personally, I don't mind having my rear tire rubbing against something, I'd just prefer it wasn't a half-full fuel tank...

go with the 3hp briggs it looks more correct with the vintage frame
newer motor looks out of place with that type of build

3 horse briggs for sure. It's the coolest looking of the choices. Those OHV motors are just awkward looking on a bike like that. Nice mini by the way.

When I got the bike, somebody had put a headlight off of a moped or somthing on it. It has a little speedo meter in it, but it was not hooked up. I still have it but I don't think it will go back on the bike.

I wouldn't put it back on either...I like the footpeg upgrade...looks 'classier'...

My brother has a gallon of Valspar 'Lime Green' he wants me to try, so after seeing your bike and Emilio's Li'l Indian done in green, I'm ready to go for it...

Looks great...engine will be done in white?

Well, acculally the seat is not white, it is a carbon fiber silver. So I think the Motor will be a simular color. I am thinking Dupli-Color Wheel Silver. I am also having the Guy that made the seat make me a Fender Bra out of the same material. I was going to do the motor in a classic Briggs White, but I think it will look more uniform if it matches the seat and fender bra.

I think that a Li'l Indian would look awsome in Green and White.

The 5 HP is too big for the streaker and will hang way out one side. 3 or 3.5 would be perf.

As for paint, try the "aluminum" or silver color *engine* paint.
