Engine with short shaft

I have recently came across a broken powerwasher with a runninb engne. I decided to take th engine but while dismantleing the machine I dscovered the shaft is very short and large. Is it possible to use a 1" bore clutch on a shaft that is only 1 1/4" long or is it not worth it and save the engine for something else.

If the crankshaft has a threaded hole at the end of the shaft you should be able to extend the shaft any length you want, and make the diameter 3/4" or whatever.

Comet also make a 1" clutch that sits on about the shaft length you have, but leaving the sprocket-side away from the engine, like a gokart setup.

I managed to take apart the pump from the power washer the engine originally came form and got the coupler out tha hooked up to the shaft. It is threaded on the inside so i was wondering were I could get a shaft that will make it a more compatible size
