Tec oil leak

I have a HS40 starts and runs like a dream. Problem: when running there is an oil leak where the govenor arm enters the engine block...sounds simple...the mechanic says there is no bushing currently being produced that will stop the leak and allow freedom of the govenor arm. He suggested take it to a machine shop and have a brass or bronze one specially made(expensive). Have any of you experienced this leak and found a cost effective solution?

Thanks in advance,
Mike

Yes i have a suggestion....Remove the governer assembly and plug the hole. More available power and no more leak! just my 2 cents. jonnybiker

Also, check to make sure that the valve breather is not plugged or blocked in any way and that it is working properly. If the valves can't breath than it will produce excessive pressure in the oil resevour and it tends to leak out of the path of least resistance, usually where the govenor arm connects.
