I used Behr concrete etcher in my snowmobile 5 gal. gas tank. I put in about 1/2 gallon with some number 8 driveway stones in it and sloshed tank around until the rust was gone,It took a few hours of work. I pour out the acid into a bucket and put water and baking soda in the tank it to neutralize acid. Dump that into a different bucket, then flush tank with water until it was clean, Then you have to right away pour in some SAE30 weight oil mix with gas and slosh that all around to prevent rusting and dump that out. It has been working in the snowmobile tank but it is a two stroke mix in the tank. I wonder if it will rerust in a normal tank with just gas in it. then it might have to be lined. When i was done use the baking soda wash to neutralize the acid in the bucket.

I used BB's and shook the hell out of it. I'm just going to buy a bunch of fuel filters and change them frequently at first until everything that's lookse is gone

When I did one of my cushman tanks I put short drywall screws in it and some sand out of the blast cabinet, wrapped it up in blankets and put it in the center of the dryer (no heat!!!!!) for a few hours. I got in alot of trouble with the wife over that one, but it worked

I got her to forget about the "dryer incident" when she opened the dishwasher to find some parts that I had washed.

I got her to forget about the "dishwasher Incident" when she walked into the kitchen to find an odd smell and the oven on. I was heating up the cam gear to easily slip onto the crankshaft of a VW engine I was building

She hasn't caught me when I put stuff in the freezer like balljoints, bearings, etc.. right before I install them

I have not started on anything yet. I have to many things going on at once.I need to stick to one thing at a time. If my wife caught me using any kind of house hold appliances, that would be my ass. Lots of good ideas though. I guess I'll take the acid back to Lowes.

Amen to the Evaporust....I use it all the time....Doesn't work real fast but dissolves every ounce of rust and leaves a nice bead blasted looking finish....A bit on the pricey side but you can re-use it over and over. If you've got real heavy rust it's best to bead blast it first and then use the Evaporust...Ogy
