Motor problem =(

Took the bike out for a ride today, warmed it up before riding. I wanted to see if it would spit out flames so I lifted up the rear and reved it a few times, it spit its flames out which made me happy but when brought the rear back down I had to really rev the motor to get it to move, not like before where I would barely throttle it. It would only get moving if I went full throttle. The motor was screaming in the high rpm's but was going to fast. Anyone have any idea what it may be? I tightened up the cluth with an allen wrench just to be sure and lubed up the chain, still same problem. BTW, I have a 3 hp briggs motor. Thanks in advance. :001_unsure:

Your saying that the motor is now reving high, but it isn't really moving? It might be the clutch?

Your clutch is stock and is setup to engage at a very low RPM. Usually somewhere around 800 slipping to 1,200 fully engaged RPM. Make sure you check to see if your clutch key is still in the clutch, or your clutch set screw is still set.

One thing I forgot to mention was that I raised the idler screw up a half turn but I wouldn't think that would have anything to do with it.

CHARLES, the clutch is in nice and tight, as I mentioned before I tightened it down with the 2 small allen screws, is there anywhere else I should tighten it? Maybe push it into the shaft more? Maybe it moved..I guess i'll try that when I get home.

Jesse, how do I check my jetting?

I really can't guess the problem. I will have to see it in person. If you get some spare time just hit me up and bring it through.
