$46 ?!

Cheaper on flea bay than for my local guy to get it. Crazy.

Paid it anyway ;)

$15 extra = returnable

Two more days and this bike will roll for the first time in 20 years!

Rupster: IM me a your mail; I'll sell you the other.

Thanks again.- Josh

Right belt (89a) What a HOOT!!

For going 20 years without running it sure woke up my neighborhood! ;)

Kind of scary when the brake lever pops out though. Not safe enough fo the wife or kids just yet.

Question:

It has a hard time when I stop. If I keep the rpm up to keep the engine running I have to hold the brake. Seems like I'll be chewing up belts this way.

Any suggestions? Is the clutch servicable in any way?

The belt is too short and you will burn up the belt if left like that. I have brand new genuine heald belt sitting here Heald part#203-026 and its the same length as the comet 203591A. Put the other belt on and you will get rid of the creeping at idle.

Also wanted to add that the comet backplate is not the same as the heald backplate so the belt that comes in most TAV kits will not fit. The heald backplate was not a comet part and is heald specific.

It will fire up with no creep. The creep is due to burping the throttle to keep the engine from stalling. I started with the 91a belt. With both pulleys expanded it might touch. You can see the slack in the pic; the 91 belt.

Time to tune the carb. I see the bowl has a spring: can I assume it doubles as the float main? Is this where I should start?

Thanks.-JJ
