RACES at VENTURA RACEWAY - April 24th

Races at Ventura Raceway April 24th

Ventura Raceway, a 1/5 mile dirt racetrack with a national reputation, invites minibikes to race as part of their motorcycle program Saturday night, April 24th!! If it is a success we will be included 2 more times this summer!!

Participants will get practice time on the motocross track in the afternoon and race under the lights and in front of a large spectator crowd. The track uses turns 1 & 2 of the main oval flat track, then snakes around the infield, has a couple of jumps, and comes back into turns 3 & 4 and the main straightaway!

Minibikes will be split into 2 classes, to be determined by rider participation, and could include;

1. Serious racers – limited to real minibikes with engines that were originally sold as less than 8hp! Modifications are o.k.

2. Minibikes with 100% stock appearing motors below 8hp, and/or with little wheels and tires, under 12”.

3. “Exhibition”; for non-racing riders – ride at your own speed and comfort level for the sheer pleasure!

If Exhibition draws enough riders, those folks that would have been in “Stock” (#2 above) will run with Racers (#1) or Exhibition.

Ultimately all decisions will be made by the racing director and will be final. This is for FUN!! NO SNIVELLING WILL BE ALLOWED OR TOLERATED!!

Please, ASAP, email me at catofun@hotmail.com (or call me at 805 889 1932)if you are interested; tell me what group you will be in!

REMEMBER: this will only happen if there are enough riders - so do not delay, let me know, email me NOW!!

BONUS: Entry fees include trophies thru 3rd place for racers; further, our Minibike Racing Sponsor, TheHomeMag Home Improvement and Décor Advertising Magazines (see TheHomeMag.com), is providing “I Was There” trophies for all remaining racers and exhibition riders!!

Prices: Spectators (adult) $14.00. Rider & Bike $45.00 Pre-Paid (done thru their web-site before 4/16 – or $60.00 at the gate on raceday! Crew Pit Passes $25.00 paid at the gate!

All of this is dependent on sufficient interest and participation!! PLEASE, let me know at catofun@hotmail.com (or call me at 805 889 1932) ASAP if you will be racing or riding – while you will not be obligated by telling me, they need to know if there are enough riders to make it happen!!

I like it, but I couldn't actually run in it. I have no bikes that sit up high with dirt tires. But I'm planing on building a doodle bug, so I can play with you guys.

Attention:

If MBP can pull this one off it would be fantastic for exposure for our movie "Mini Bike Mayhem."

The Home Mag is Pauls business and if he went to Ventura and got us on the roster it would be a shame not to be there to support the "West Coast Old Mini Bike National Assocation, LLC."

I would consider loaning one bike out and racing one, both entries would be in the Pro class and I would consider the play bike in the Exhibition Race. My question is; Do you have to pay entries for each class entered. Is the Exhibition race a race or a demonstration.

The other option is to be there as a tech advisor and help get the bikes ready for the races if health issues like not loosing 15 pounds first, and getting a Doctor's clearance to participate in the Mayhem...

The race could very well surpass the Veledrome because of the crowds...

Spank the competition TT Out~

i'll have to see. if i go, i'll decide a couple of days before at most.

my DB is good for maybe mid-40s at best (with the clone), so it would probably be at the back of the pack. i'm not sure how it will do with the Cheetah clutch since i've only spent maybe 2 minutes riding with it on there.

the big reason why i might not show is...

i'm buying a VW Bug off a friend of mine for a Baja Bug project (it's more than i want to spend, but is the perfect starting point) that i really want to have done by September. the Bug is easily worth $2,500-$3,000 as it sits and i'm getting it for much less than that. go-fast parts for the mini bikes are getting put on the back burner for now. i just need to buy some risers and chain to have the Azusa frame ready to ride (plus some other random BS), but it's not built for circle track.

i know, more excuses. mini bike stuff isn't my #1 priority right now.

TP,

I have also offered Strigoi my second best bike to race. So Tom. It is pretty nice of you to offer MDB and Strigoi anything that they can have fun on since you own and built them with your own money.

I have offered strigg, to stay in the MH at the Veledrome. Something always, just one step back. I have not commented on his decisions to go or not to go. I must respect his wishes.!>? We both offered numerous times and as you know. You cannot make someone want to do something. This has booted El Mirage Dry Lake on many levels. Exposure is the key!

Some people I would like to see jump into this thread and show support are;

Guardrail Dave
Edwin, don't sell all your bikes, AS/WE will not feel sorry for you!
George3
Mac, as a parts and mechanic.
Charles and four riders. Dennis, Darryl and two others.
Evil Ed, can ride in the exhibition race on my stock DB.
Tom is in.
TT. Terrorize Tom is in.
MBP, is in.
Bryan, from Fontana Soli Cal.

DON'T MAKE ME SPIT UP BLOOD TO GET YOU GUYS THERE. PAUL IS DEPENDING ON ME!
Paul you did your job. Now sit back and have faith it was the right move at the right time to make it possible.....

TT OUT~

Life is short and then you die. Wishing and hoping will not bring back the memory's.
