My neighbors used to be big into those. They set my yard on fire a couple of times. I think they had some of the boats too.

Blown gearboxes are really pretty easy to fix if you don't mind doing it yourself. I used to run electric stadium trucks way back when and a popped gearbox might take a half hour to fix if you already have the parts in hand.

I have some oldies sitting in my storage cabinet; a Traxxas Hawk 2, Traxxas LS-2, Tamiya TAO2-FF, Tamiya Mini Cooper, and an HPI RS-4(original with the gear-drive rear diff). I used to have a Traxxas Nitro Hawk as well.

I think the newest R/C car I have turned 10 this year....or last.

I've been into R/C cars for probably 25 years. I currently have an RC18T, RC18B, Traxxas Revo, Traxxas nitro Rustler 3.5, HPI-RS4I, Horoboco helicopter and my 15+ year old Traxxas Hawk. I just cleaned out my garage and had no idea how many pieces and parts I had...

It's a great hobby...

My R/C budget dried up when I started pouring thousands into real cars, but the Associated RC18 looks pretty cool. I remember when the RC10T was a state-of-the-art truck and the Losi Hydradrive was "superior" to slipper clutches.
