Remington model 33?

does anyone know where the serial number is located on a Remington model 33 (single shot .22 rifle)?

i guess they didn't start putting the serial numbers on these until they hit the 170xxx range (they were made from 1932 to 1935). i've looked all over and don't see anything. there's something that looks like a 7u by where the barrel meets the receiver, but that's not a serial that would be on it. there's no way it used to be a 70 either.

it's a fun gun. i recommend picking one up if you see it for sale (you can get them for cheap)

after looking the gun over a bunch more and talking to a friend of mine, it looks like this was probably made before they started putting serial numbers on them.
