Jobless Bum

Wow, I was told yesterday that we're going out of business. One more week then it's unemployment. I'm in shock!

WOW ! nothing says Merry Christmas like a job loss My brother has been out for 2 years now. He was working in Corporate America as a CPA for fortune 500 companies. His problem is he has not realized (yet) he may have to take a "lesser" job till the economy gets better. Good Luck, and may next year be better for you.

That is what I did, but did not wait anytime, good companys don't hire for good jobs if you have been off work to long. I went from 50,000+ a year to having a $9.00 hr job, just to have insurance for the kids. But I have worked my way back up some. I now have a real laxed IT job and love it.

I have suffered from the grass is greener on the other side of the fence 2 or 3 times in my life and never hit the goal.
But I sure as hell have some stories to tell and memories to reflect on. Motra what ever you do the first Monday after the Pink slip you have to jump out and make it happen sure a small check will be coming in from unemployment but that won't cut it . Take 100% advantage of all provided services from the state and county to get back to work that is your new job, Too many people let it ride while they recover from the shock of loosing a job. Keep pushing and a door will open. Steve

Two lay offs for me in the last ten years has taken me from Race cars to motorcycles to Mini bikes as my hobby. My first lay off was after twenty years at the same company.

We're feeling it here too.The company I drive for used to provide hauling for around 15 mines in the region. But with nickel prices bottoming out, many of the mines are closing down for the time being.
Rather than lay off its drivers,my employer has reduced company driver working hours from 12hr/day to 10hr/day in order to help reduce corporate costs.

Hopefully this economic slow-down won't last long.
