i was going to prefit the torque converter(tav-2),but the aluminum backing won't fit at all i had the bike mock up with a bolt on steel jackshaft unit.

so i new that would fit ok and all that thing is a old style torque converter unit that has a steel backing plate and not a aluminum unit made into a jackshaft unit.
there is just to much casting material on the aluminum unit to make it fit,

when swaping out the parts from the aluminum unit to the steel unit there was couple things i had to do. i had to make sure i use the shaft out of the aluminum unit(longer)

also had to change out the #35 C sprocket to a #41 C sprocket

bolted up and it fits with no problems

and lots of leg room too....

The older TAV unit has a much sturdier cover - I'd say the change was for the good.

That's gonna be a nice cruiser. They ride pretty good stock, but the rear suspension will be even better. The 5hp Briggs and TAV should pull it around better than the original. I wish you'd hurry up though. You're almost as slow as me.

i desided to drill two small holes threw the bolts on each side and install a cotter pin so the bolts don't walk them self's out

when i purchase the bike it came without any brake parts. only the arm and spring return

i need to fab something up,so this is what i came up with today on my day off from work. all my brake parts i use where just from some nut and bolts i had laying around(more free bee's and just my time)

just and cast the original spring return breaks or gets real weak. i made it so i can install a new spring over the cable, between the brake arm and cable support bracket.
if the original spring breaks ? it's not like i can run to the hardware and find the samething. so now i have the option of going with something else

at the hardware i have the option of getting stronger or weaker spring and different spring lenths............

That's looking real nice. I like what you did with your cable mount/barrel end. Did you thread the pipe ends where you attached the swing arm? Or is there a insert in them?

Never mind, I went back through and seen where you welded nuts inside the tubing.

yesterday i was at a local retail store picking up some oil and oil filter for my car and stumbled across some trailer lights. i found a real cool little led clearance marker light that will work real nice for my project and not take up to much room for mounting it on the bike. i plan on running lights on the bike so my nephew can ride at night. all the lights will be powered by a battery only,so everything will be leds. with leds he can run hours and hours with out draining the battery down.

fab up a small bracket for the light to mount on to.

i found a real nice spot under the seat to mount the bracket()

the package had a web site on it. i had to check it out
it looks like they have couple other cool lights that are powered by leds
Peterson Manufacturing Company
light was under $8...................
