Trailhorse Resto

My son and I picked up a Trailhorse frame and fork for 15 bucks. My son has wanted a mini bike for a while I was just waiting for a fixer.

This is what she is

Looky bent forks go figure! LOL

The fork was missing bushings. Picked up bushings at the local hardware store, just have to get the correct lenght bolt.

The light switch (I believe) was beat. So we will fab one up later.

Light switch plate Goooone!

Finishing off the tack welds

The seat mount was rusted pretty bad, so away it went. Under it the tube ends were not welded. Since we were there we decided to welded it together. We fabbed up a quick jig.

Welding up the top tube. Yes I MIG weld on occasion in shorts and stick in sandals. I'm just that good! LOL

The frame is much stiffer after welding the tubes together, go figure!!

BTW, guys I got a HF 6.5 HP clone motor for $120. They sent out a flyer and the motor was on sale and 15% coupon. So we are well on our way!

Dan
