Hey GTO, 1stlegendtx thinks you changed the forks!!! Now don't go puttin on those MX 50 forks and the mono shock before yer done. It looks great, my ST 100 is getting further behind, but I've been collecting Hodaka engine parts. Now I can choose between the Tec HS40, two Briggs 5hps, and the ACE 90/100 that are being worked on. My wife keeps wondering why I want to borrow her digital camera... I still need to recover my seat, buy front fork boots, get a polished Taco chain guard from TacoJoe for the price of a painted one, etc. Do you know where to get new shock rubber bushings for the Ceriani Taco shocks?

I got some new OEM factory Z50 boots in honda sealed package from a guy on e-bay and he was way cheaper too. (can't find him anymore)

Hey, is your foot brake bent out for a flat head? Mine was. I have some 4HP tec's but Taco 's are traditionally Briggs and the I/C engine ran so good in it, as if Gawd himself stuck it down and dropped it in there.

I am so freeking close but I just keep putting it off so here is where it SIT'S I am sitting on my ass or doing other projects,,, I'll adjust the bars back a bit,, I chopped some fenders from what I could find, I will have some polished on the top of the chain guard to match the fenders, ( was going to paint the fenders). All I need is a hard kick in the butt!

the chrome on the bars and shocks where too pitted to re chrome. It will be a rider anyway.

Frickin Gore Juss! All you need is some cables and a good pull! Go fer it! And it looks like you got the fenders the same place I got my new rear fender since the original plastic one was broken at the U strap by the shocks. Yes, I have the same brake pedal and it appeared like it never stuck out far enough from under the Briggs pull start. Might be reason for me to at least try the Tec hs40. The Hodaka's are gonna take a while and some $$ compared to the flat heads. Ok, so I got the shock boots for about $16 out of Florida, arrived today. Still waiting on half the rear wheel rim to get welded. Had some bad pitting and one pin hole. What can you tell me about the benefits of the old style briggs carb vs. the new style other than the rotary choke and different air cleaner assembly. I'm thinking of using the old style which I have because the air cleaner willl fit under the frame. The old style has a smaller throat diameter and flange dimension, yet the cart racers use both????

Thanks, the old air cleaner will clear much easier, (stock won't) can't really tell on the benny's of both engines since I have some of each and they run about the same. I did a mod to the choke which is in the project logs under "I choked". I made my own air cleaner and it will be a GTO special! Hahahaha! I don't know what the fenders were for but they were $10 and I went with the stock holes and chopped them to match the brochure pic and had to make stockish mounts. I'm glad I had Kball make me up a two tone seat, it's not stock to have both tones but it's feekin cool and exactly what I wanted . Thanks 8ball Sounds like we got the boots from the same guy.

Biggest problem on refinishing the forks was getting the bushings off the top.

And K8ball, I'll be doing the jumping over here. It's got a good suspension and brakes.

Heres a pic of the bike as I found it,, I didn't know what it was until we figured it out with a pic from "notacotom" (tom)
