Anyone interested in a kick starter ?

I mostly build custom motorized bicycles using industrial motors and always wanted to add a kick starter. So a couple of years ago I figured out a way to do it. Here are the pieces I made with the help of my grandson.

This is a link to the fabrication thread. I hand carved the first pieces and then made a blueprint for my grandson to put into his solidworks program. Then he laser cut them at his work. It's works great with no problems.

Very cool! Got any video of it in action? How does the kicker arm return past the shaft gear once it's running?

Thanks. I don't have video of actually kick starting but it usually takes 2 or 3 kicks once you learn the drill. The PTO shaft gear is a freewheel that is engaged throughout the stroke and returns with clearance when not used. I have since made one for my 8hp motor that takes it over to the right side. .
