The critical part for any jackshaft set up will be making sure everything is square and straight.

Since no one has thrown it out there yet. I'll toss out the backyard redneck way. You could use pillow block bearings and drill through the frame and just bolt in a jackshaft set up. Though I will note that welding on bearing hangers for a jackshaft is the proper method.
