My OEM cap on my MB165 was fine when I first got it, now it leaks like crazy. So I took the rubber gasket out, cut a piece of corrugated cardboard in the shape of the gasket, put it in first then the rubber gasket on top of it and it seals fine now with a little added pressure. I just figured...
Or you can go the super cheap route and comb CL for a used pressure washer or roto tiller. I found a pressure washer with a bad pump that had a 5hp Honda on it for $25. I paid more for a new max torque clutch than I did on the motor.
I think the jackshaft bolt is a 17mm with a fine pitch thread, I'm not 100% sure though. I had to buy one too. Just take the jack shaft bolt off, tap it through the back, and take it with you to the hardware store. That's what I did and just found the correct nut that fit. Then when you put...
Does anyone know where to buy a clutch cover that fits the 5hp Honda GC160 motor? I don't think the bolt pattern is the same and the 6.5 honda/clone it looks much narrower.
Thanks for any info!
I have $510 in my 11 yr old son's DB30. But some of that is two new tires, and $80 was for a second 2.8hp motor I bought for it when he broke the first one after about a month, and wasn't ready for a bigger motor yet. But I only spent $25 on the 5hp Honda that is on it now! Hell a...
nightstocker, use the search button. There are plenty of threads on here on how to tweak a few things on the 2.8 to get a little more speed out of it. The torque will never be there unless you upgrade or add a jack shaft, but there are a few things out there.
Did you back out the throttle...
Try a new spark plug, even if you tested it against the head and it sparks....I had the same problem popped in a new plug, and it started on the 1st pull.
Did you drain out all the old gas and start with fresh?
Make a template of the bottom of your motor by setting it on a piece of paper or thin cardboard and trace it. Cut it out. Then turn the motor over and hold or tape your cutout on the bottom and punch out holes where the mounting holes are on your engine. Then place your engine with the clutch...
Thanks for the offer, but I already swapped out the 10t jackshaft sprocket with a 13t, giving it a 7.7 to 1 ratio and put an additional spring on the governor arm to increase the RPM's. It's hitting around 30-31, but the doodle still keeps pulling for a few more MPH's.
Here is a pic of the pressure washer:

I was working on the conversion on friday night and got the motor mounted:
Finished up on Saturday
Fabbed up a new quick chain tensioner with some additional movement out of a slotted L bracket. I didn't have a...
