I'm trying to build a header for a Tecumseh 3.5 hp engine. Should I quench the flange in oil, or is it OK to just grind, etc. and let it heat up and cool down on its own. Here is what I have so far. Thanks.

Im just finishing up This 1950 Schwinn Panther and need a 1 inch header. Does anyone make them on the forum ? Ive attached pics to show routing. I would need it out the port towards the front of the bike, over the drive and under the motor towards the rear tire.
