Hi all, Newbie here. I was wondering if there is a kit or mod to change the points magneto out on a HS50 to a solid state type? Thereby getting rid of the points. Thanks for any help.

I tried to start my 1977 hs50 and there's no spark. I removed the flywheel and cleaned the magneto and still nothing:( I'm not very familiar with a points setup, what should be my next step or what should I replace. Thanks.

A couple: Are there any steel sleeved blocks? Neither of mine are. If not, is it worth sleeving one? I can do them so cost is low. Are the bearing type covers that much better? I have one, not sure I'll use it. Has any one put needle bearings in a stock block? Either turning crank...

I just picked up what was claimed to be a HS50. I read somewhere that HS50's don't have threads in the exhaust port. I just wanted confirm with tec pros. because if that's true Ive been deceived by description. Also this engine has fly wheel with plastic fins, I'm still learning would that be...

Is anyone making this exhaust. I purchased just the muffler w/ threaded nip. I'll need the bent pipe w/ flange & can the muffler l got be welded to pipe to make it look somewhat like original?

I know this topic has been covered before and I have read other posts, but what I have not been able to find either in the manual or online is if there is a initial position to install the magneto ? the reason I ask is I installed the mag with the bolts that hold it down in the middle of there...
