Hello everyone. I just got this 6.5hp vanguard for a good deal on fb marketplace. I cannot get it to run without spraying starter fluid into the intake. Once I do that, it fires right up, and stays running.

Can be the complete setup - housing and all or just the guts: spring/spool that rope goes on with the pawls. (I have a housing that fits but the shaft that the guts bolt to is narrower than the smaller HP ones, WTH?) For a 9HP Briggs Vanguard but as I understand it's the same as the ones on...

I got a 6 HP Mitsubishi motor that is the same as the 6 HP Briggs vanguard . It came with my Firehawk mini bike. I would like to make it faster and have been searching for racing parts online. I have found a billet rod for it but have not seen any hp cams or billet flywheels that can fit this...

I have a chance to get a new 18hp Vanguard with key start. Should I get it? If so, than why? Anything I should look for? No idea what I would even put it on yet. Well a mini of course! Is it even practical to run this? If not I may just get it to trade for other mini projects. Thanks

I have a generator that has a B&S vanguard 13hp OHV. electric start all that, 1" shaft. anyone use these? im guessing theyre good motors they cost like $1,000. any performance parts a builders that know these motors? :smile:

I'm rebuilding an A.P.E. Dunecycle, and am wondering if I should purchase a Comet 30 series (rated 3-8 HP), or a 40 series (rated 8-18 HP).
