After 45 years it was time to change the points! With pics!

I picked up a 1970-ish Hilltopper with the original Tec H50, it hadn't ran in a "few" years.
I got a $20 Chinese carb for it but it would still "dance" against the governor. Tom suspected it was the points. So I got a couple NOS points sets and condensers.
I pulled the flywheel, it looked like it had been on there for the last 45 years.

After a quick hit with an air blast the birds nest was gone, I pulled the points cover.
It looked pretty clean but the wiper was not touching.

I flipped the wiper installed the points and condenser then set the new points. Too bad I set them wrong .... but hey, they look good!!

When I set the points they opened a little during final tightening.
It threw a spark when the flywheel was turned by hand but when I started the motor it would only run smooth at idle .. twist the throttle and it stumbled to beat the band.
I did it again paying attention to the way it tightens .... no more dancing against the governor. It runs great!
