Just received today, pretty much as advertised by the seller, except the seat bracket is broken. Paint appears original, and included a kickstand, which wasn't mentioned in the eBay listing....

The serial number is a sticker.. Is this original, and if so, is there a way to date the bike by the number?? I'll post more as I get it going.. IMG_2842.JPG IMG_2843.JPG

Fender Mounting brackets.

Thanks for the info Not So Minibike... I am having a blast learning about these... Here is where my Fender brackets are.. IMG_2844.JPG IMG_2845.JPG

I think you're right about the sticker, looks too nice to be original. It looks like there would be rivet holes underneath, but there's not. I'm a bit disapointed though, the eBay listing read "...no cracks..." Well, like I said before my seat bracket is cracked on the right side and the rear weld on the left side of the motor plate is cracked too. IMG_2846.JPG IMG_2847.JPG I don't weld, I wonder what it'll cost to get these repaired? Looks like the seat bracket might've been re-welded once before..

If you grind off the B.S. and paint ( prepped for welding ) any welder would probably do it for $40 or less , I'd do it for beer , lol !

The work goes on..... I stripped/cleaned and primed the forks today....
I used a chemical stripper, and scraped the paint. I then power washed the rest off. I cleaned them with mineral spirits, several times and used an etching primer.. tomorrow will be a "filler" primer, then sanded and gloss purple as the final coat. It started out off white, but as I cleaned, I found purple underneath in several places, leading me to believe purple was the original color...

Ok.. Paint is on...

I did the etching primer first, followed with a filling primer (several coats of both according to directions on the rattle cans) then 1 whole can of "Gloss Purple" Can't wait to get the frame back from the welder!!!!! :)

Also- In between coats, I would spray into the handlebars, just to coat whatever might be going on in there...

There was some pitting in the metal, I didn't address that as much as I could've because...well.. I'd just be more p!ssed when I (or my boys) inevitably scratch it!! :)
