another Tecumseh carb question

i have read through a ton of post, but still have a few questions. i have a Tecumseh HS50-67001 engine but it didnt come with an intake or carb. i dont want to dump a ton a money in it at the moment just wanting to get it started. can i use any carb that is for an hs50 engine like the ones in this thread.. http://www.oldminibikes.com/forum/tecumseh-engines/77674-carb-choices-hs50.html . or do i have to shell out $100 and get a service carb and parts.

Interesting carb... I looked up your motor on PartsTree and um, the carb has no linkage,bellcranks, nothing...

I have an HS50 that is close to your serial number. This is the carb for it.

Cheap. Should work.

That looks like a snowblower carb, I'd get this OR one like it.

My motor was a snowblower motor... :hammer:

Your link would work better, but I didn't have a part number for it, just had mine.

That's a 1982 5hp Tecumseh engine a lot of Tecumseh carbs will work on that motor, I have all the parts for that motor but you live far away and I am jumping on a plane and going to Oklahoma today...work is work I guess. If you don't have any luck by the time I get back I will help you out.
