The April 2016 Mini Bike of the Month is Jeep2003's scratch built custom Clinton Board Track Racer.

BRIEF HISTORY and INFORMATION:

Bryan set out wanting to build a board racer, based on a bicycle, but did not want to use the typical 50cc chinese/clone engine (the one most commonly used for those builds). He wanted to have a leaf sprung front end and a sliding pillar rear. He wanted the build to remain true to the mini bike sized frames/wheelbase, instead of building one the size of a typical bicycle. He proportioned the bike relative to a set of wheels/tires he had laying around, as a starting point.

For the engine, he used the old Clinton engine, because its a bit more antique than anything aluminum. It was the first small engine his family has ever had. The engine has been in his family, since he was only a few years old. His brother got it, to put on their first go kart but never got it running, because it didn't have a carb. It had sat and hadn't been running for the past 30 years. Bryan thought it would be the perfect heart for this animal.

This build took approximately 9 months to complete. Bryan puts a lot of passion into his builds and it shows. Take some time to look up some of his projects. I am sure you will find inspiration in them. Awesome job on this one Bryan!
