bike tire on a mini/

I keep a very close eye on my Whizzer's axles, bearings and the hubs. No bicycle wheel was ever intended to take that kind of abuse. I would be very careful about any off road use.

I don't know what size wheels you are considering but if you do run a bicycle wheel, make sure you get something with a heavy duty rim, heavy guage spokes, high quality hub and axle.

Find a set of moped rims, and GOOD ones, like the ones from Motobecanes & the like. (I have a set off of my old 50V, and they're awaiting a chassis to be built around them, and the 125cc Lifan I have in the basement).

Internal drum brakes are your friend here. lol.

Above is a pic I borrowed From KustomKartKid. That is what got me thinking about a bike tire or bike front end.

Saying that it is too hard to turn was probably a poor choice of words. It is sluggish when it turns. I would like it to be more nimble. The tire is a fat 19 inch tire that is 7 inched wide.

I will try more pressure, right now they only have 10 pounds in them.

Seeing some of the other pics on this site, I think I need to be on the lookout for a old pit bike front end. Put a whole fork with suspension and a thiner tire on it. I think thats what I am really looking for.

i wouldnt use bicycle parts. fitting it to the factory forks would be a mess nevermind the longevity. instead i would use just a skinnier minibike wheel like a 12" spoked or even an 8" wheelbarrow style wheel and tire. I did that to my super bronc back in the day and it helped a good bit for me being 10 yeas old  but you will lose the suspention that the fat tire would normally provide

what about just changing the tire to something less agressive like a scooter tire that bike is basicly a db30 and i know hotrodminibikes has a street tire package:thumbsup: my son has had his db since he was five never had a problem steering it

Dont use bicycle parts, they were designed for light weight in mind. All it takes it to hit a curb at 5mph and that spoked bike wheel will be folded like a lawn chair. You would be better off looking for a smaller minibike wheel for the front.

I dunno.. Honestly for the price and stuff.. I think you were on the right track with a little pitbike wheel.. There are SOOOO MANY china dirtbikes in the world.. They fall totally apart..

Of the 9 million sold in the world, 8 million are broken down, and have perfect front wheels and tires on them..

I'd just buy a front wheel from one of those 70CC whopper chopper dirtbikes and be done with it.. GOTTA be able to buy the whole damn unit for 20 bucks or less used..

Some of the Arco minibikes came with a bicycle tire and wheel from the factory.. the CHEAP CHINSY Strawberry Shortcake 16 inch steel wheel with about 8 spokes in them.. :doah:

I'd have to agree with Gumpit. Scooter tires, sure for street use, but why'd you buy a bike with cargo racks if you only plan on street riding?

For the record I'm only riding this on trails. I built a 1/4 mile loop that winds around a little bit in the woods. I'm looking to be more nimble so I can carry more speed weaving in and out of trees. If I could go back in time I would have gotten an old trail mini with suspension.

You need to just go buy yourself a pit bike. If you want a small mini with some guts and able to run quick. My buddy has one, a pitster or something. That thing will flat out fly! And has pretty good suspension.
