Brakes locking up

Recently got my hands on a hawg ty Baja mini bike. Swapped the old frozen engine out for a predator 212 and threw a new brake on it. I am running a straight chain and got that all adjusted for a ride. When I take it out the brakes completely lock up on me. The lever goes stiff and I have to push it dragging the front tire back to the shop. I loosen them up and try to go again and the same thing happens. Any ideas on how to solve this issue?thanks guys.

did you replace the shoes? The linings may be worn to the point the brake cam cannot reset itself when the brakes are released. maybe look over the brake cable and any springs.
