Briggs 3hp correct pointless coil part#

Hi O.M.B. Members, I want to replace my original 3HP Briggs Horizontal points condenser type ignition to solid state magnetron pointless type. I bought one off flea bay but it did not fit the 3hp flywheel, I think it was for 5hp. Please let me know correct part number. Thank You

Does your flywheel have 2 magnets or one?

If you have two magnets in your flywheel, that would tell me you have a coil with 3 legs. (One running through the the center).

And if so, my personal experience dictates that there is no electronic ignition for that motor unless you change flywheels.

I may be wrong.

You will also find it listed as Briggs part # 591420. Either way, I would recommend using only OEM Briggs for this part, and not the (cheaper) aftermarket versions.
