Briggs Animal ID/Help??

#1
I picked up what I believe is a 2008 or so Briggs Animal FOR A STEAL. It seems to be in good shape. Can anyone confirm it for me the numbers on the Valve cover are:
124432 8001 01
010730FD

Also, are parts interswappable with newer animals/WF? How safe is the Flywheel and rod on this engine that I have?, if I wanted to spin 8000 RPM?

I can help. Is the front of the block smooth or does it have ribs in it? The ribbed blocks are stronger and of a later generation. All animals are dual bearing and cast iron sleeved. The very first generation animals did not have a good flywheel on them. The later generations went first to a Jr. Racecar billet flywheel then a PVL billet flywheel. Both of those are good and safe to the rpms you want to turn. You'll need a billet rod in the motor to safely turn it 8000rpms plus a cam to match. The animal with a stock cam on gas will make about 9hp or so. You can go up from there. It just depends on how wild you want to get. If you have any other questions just ask.
