I only used nails and now I'm REALLY regretting it

Thing wobbles like crazy...
 does look a bit top heavy...that's how ya learn kid, trial and error.

I remember as a kid drivin big ass nails into 2x4's to hold them together only to realize the whole thing was stuck to my driveway cause the nails were an inch too long :doah:

..next time use a good grade wood glue (before you paint) and some drywall or deck scews...drill some small pilot holes and screw that thing together with a screw gun or drill...you'd be surprised how much strength the wood glue adds....

just keep buildin' stuff...beats the hell out of playing video games or twittering your friends

Gotcha. I only used screws for the bottom 2x4's to keep them from separating, but it still wobbles.

I have some friends that think I'm weird for liking to work with my hands and do manual labor, and one friend in particular who has often asked me "Why don't you just BUY one that works?"

I don't think he understands the fun of fixing things

Hats off to you younger adults (kids) out there for no being afraid to use your hands and heads to LEARN to do this kind of mechanical work and building stuff, anybody can push x, y, a, b, up, down, left or right to "learn how to" do thiings it takes people who enjoy the REAL learning to help them change the oil in their mommy and daddys cars when they get older. I appreciate the small group from the younger generation that "GET IT" and want to learn and build and accomplish. Nothing like looking back when you are finally done and saying "I did that! I built it! I started out not really knowing and learned the whole way through and accomplished what I was trying to do!"

Most kids would starve to death these days if the microwave quit working and the phones were dead!!!
