Convert from Diaphragm Carb to Sidedraft on Briggs

Hello

I'm trying to restart my Skat Kitty project.

Have one issue though...

The B&S-engine I've found has a Diaphragm carburator and I want to convert it to a "draft-carb". Since I want to use existing fuel tank on the Skat.

Does anyone have any experience of such a conversion? Is it possible?

Richard is exactly correct. We have done the opposite a couple of times, where the engines came with the "Flo-jet" (float bowl) carbs and we converted them to the "Pulsa-jet" (Diaphram) tank/carb.

Hi mark
Yes that's what I've heard too.

Mine did not have the original and the only engine suitable I've found is this B&S so I'll see what I can do with that.

I see that you are from Sweden, that makes two Skat Kittys from there in one week:thumbsup:!
I can imagine parts are very hard to come by over there. I have a side exhaust Tecumseh engine that would be perfect for that bike, however I'm pretty sure shipping would kill the deal... Lets see some pics of your project please!

Have tried to locate a "small jetflo" in Sweden but no success so far.
Anyone have an idea on article no for it? See my attached picture for engine model type.

Looking closer at some Skat Kitty pics, I'm not sure there will be enough room to clear the jack shaft assembly and kickstand with the Briggs updraft carb- it's pretty tight in there. In a pinch you could bolt up a Tecumseh intake and bowl carb off of H30 and it might have clearance...If you can find one in Sweden. If you are interested in the correct motor, just send me a PM:thumbsup:

Hi

Here's the latest progress. Great fun!

Now we need to put on the foot rests, the chain guard, brake pedal.

Does anyone have an exhaust out there?
