Dr. Shop Teacher's JFF Gilson Knight Rider

Beautiful bike you built there Pete. It looks like an absolute joy to ride. The level of detail throughout is very evident, and those hilly streets didnt even slow it down. Great job.

Working to midnight anyone????

Have two of the three pieces back from the machinist. He'll have the TAV guard done this pm. He is not, by any stretch, a welder. But, ya does what ya gotta does. Have to go to work this pm, so I'll be at it tonight. Here's where I stand:

What I started with this morning at 11:

Cut, shaped and sanded to 120g:

Battery cover was easier, but still only to 120g:

We shall see....

So, kids...it's the best it's gonna get.

Raining like hell...and my dust mask is full of aluminum. Here it is. I believe I met the requirements to say it's complete.

At 4:30 pm, I picked up the TAV guard and sat in traffic on I95 on the way home. Took 2 1/2 hours to get to 120 grit finish and, obviously, it needs to be polished. But, the more tired I got, the more mistakes I was going to make.

Here's how I got it:

After an hour:

After another hour:

Ready to be fitted and finish sanded:

Fitted and adjustment made to clear the TAV/Swing Arm bracket:

Chain guard fitted:

My kudos to Unorthodox Creations (Adam) for the inspiration to make the guards. Hokey Smokes Batman, this ain't easy.

(Ride Video is on a prior post). I'm cooked.
