Ducar 212cc by Dyno?

My issue with them is that to raise compression, you either have to replace with non hemi head or mill the head. There is limited piston to valve clearance, limited retainer to head clearance and no cheep ratio rockers on the market for them. My problem with the motor is more the head than the flywheel. Maybe if I put a GX200 head on the motor I would like it.
The Ducar 212 is a hemi head for sure, but is only has the 24mm exhaust as opposed the 25mm exhaust on the Predator.

For more information here is the parts compatibility sheet: http://www.dynocams.com/catalog/documents/PARTS COMPATIBILITY CHART.pdf

The list covers compatible parts for the 196, 212 and hemi. It looks to have a lot more in common with the 196 in terms of parts.

Change your name to hater... Bring one of your slow piles to Denver, I posted where you can find me.
I'd listen to anything those 2 had to say, but you're a f__cking idiot

Why would Ducar come out with a 212 announcing the intent on competing with the Predator and have an engine that does not have the quality or the power of a Predator? I would guess that the quality and power will exceed what you get out of a Predator.

Were any forum rules broken in this thread?

Gary Costanza has been around for a long time .. and does a damn good write up and explanation of where these motors started .. are some castings better than others yes .. I would almost put the first gen predator block right up there with a Honda .. and the ducor clone I am building is nice clean casting ... But bottom line is they will all perform if built properly .

I am just curious about what is different. I prefer the hemi predator which is a lifan because of the flattop piston, clone cam compatibility, same size clone head locators, gaskets and the better port layout. Drawbacks are flywheel taper. But there are lct and licon predators as well. I find all the castings pretty nice compared to some of my flathead stuff. All these I do modify for kart and mini bike use. I did replace a Briggs 8 hp flathead with a bone stock non hemi predator on my 3000 psi 3gal a minute pressure washer over a year ago and I was very impressed usually starts first pull and has enough hp to turn the pump. Runs smoother than the Briggs and is quieter. This unit has lots of hours on it with only one change for maintenance.o

I don't see it as getting smoked ... Drop a predator , champion and a Honda on a power tamp , pressure washer , compressor or log splitter and torture test them see what happens ...lol
See that's my thing. Let run real world conditions under stress, and I'm guessing a Honda out lasts them all. That's the ting I'm talking about. Everyone has/wants numbers out the rear, non of that matters when I'm below the dam, they crank up the turbines, I I have to get out of there fast. For a built motor I go Honda (1), Box Stock-Dyno (2), and I leave the Predator alone. The marine environment is as harsh has it gets.

My point was I don't have the ability to build it properly. With a Box Stock-Dyno powerhead, more of the precise work is done for me. I'm not a mechanic, nor do I have a detailed oriented mind like ole and trinik. I'm a creative guy. For me it's like, "0.030 here 0.020 there. Oh, well." I need all the help I can get from the factory side. However, I'm learning as time goes on, but still I'd rather get a 196cc BS or Ducar because the engine is more finished when I buy it.

The stroke is the same as any GX160 and GX200 crank, 54MM. I'm pretty certain. Trinik would know.

Edit, it is technically at 55MM stroke at 54.94, so exact same stroke as the predator crank.

It sounds like the crank might be available at some point as companies like Dyno start stocking replacement parts. Im with Trinik, its the combo of parts, but I do agree with Deadpixel, that crank would be nice with the taper.

Well that is an advantage over the predator hemi with is Koehler taper. You could add lighting coils and flywheel for a mini if you watch the rpm.
