Ebay two stroke power?

#1
Does anyone know how much power the little $60 50cc two strokes from ebay and amazon have? My uncle gave me a little, I guess you could call it a pocket bike (it would fit in my pocket) with one of these engines on it. I was thinking o putting it on a bicycle, until I realized that it had t8f chain. Now I'm thinking of sticking it on my schwinn electric scooter. I would just like to know about how much power I can expect from it. It does have a big bore (44mm rather than 40mm) kit which brings it to 54cc, and it has a pz13 slide carburetor. I haven't gotten it running yet (the carb needs a clean and it needs a new top end ($26 with a coil and plug). Also, what fuel oil mix should I run in this engine? Most of the Info I've found says 44:1, but I'm thinking something closer to 40.

Most of the Chinese 49cc 2-strokes make around 2HP in stock form. They don't have a lot of torque though, I have one on a Scooter-X skateboard and it won't start off going uphill, even a small one with me on it, I weigh 165lbs. Also the gas cap on mine says 40:1 ratio to the best of my recollection but there was a sticker on the tank that said 25:1 which I also found in many manuals said the same, 25:1. I will say once it gets going it does hold it's speed pretty good and is quite scary at roughly 25-30MPH. Here's a link to the common 49cc/52cc engines from Monster Scooter Parts and they say 25:1 as well, https://www.monsterscooterparts.com/trsc/rec-categories/entr/49enwimapust.html

I found the same engine as mine on ebay, it also says 25:1, so i'll keep this thing away from my dad (he runs pre mixed 50:1 in everything). And I figured the power would be pretty low. But I think it'll move that scooter with 9.7:1 gearing on 10" tires. The scooter couldn't have weigh more than 40-50 pounds originaly, and I think the engine will be lighter than two batteries and a 500 watt motor. I got the scooter for free, without the batteries, charger, and battery harness, and I don't think it's worth $55 to get the electronics working again. Plus the motor's shape is questionable.

Ah, Yes, the brush cutter engine, those can make some good power fairly cheap. They make a higher compression head for them if you want to stay on a budget or you can get a whole engine already done up for around 100 bucks. You can get the stock ones for around 50-70 bucks if you want something cheap to tinker with that won't break the bank. http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-5...0001&campid=5335845805&icep_item=172159360455 good luck with the scooter.

I might see about getting one of those engines for a bicycle. But I'd Like to get mine running first. It appears to be a pretty solid base, though the crank bearings are questionable. It needs a few parts, but it was free along with a pocket bike.
