El Burro

Here's a picture of my son's El Burro. It started life as a "Super 8" I think, but when it came to us it was no more than a frame, front fender, axles and handlebars. We got lucky and a friend had an NOS front flotation rib tire and the rest we scrounged or fabricated. He wanted a CVT system so we built a mount & jackshaft setup, had to reverse the rear axle so it drove from the right to accommodate the clutches. My son got the Briggs from a gocart place. The seat was going to be temporary as we were going racing the next weekend and didn't have time to do it properly, same for the chain guard ( they're still like that a year later). El Burro 1.jpg

A fork mounted fuel tank. That has to be a first.
Looks kinda dangerous....:p

Kudos on the front tire score--a 6x6 amphibious ATV tire, right? Literally a flotation tire.

It's almost too good, too rare to use. Someone needs to repop those.

Thanks, all. Yes, those tires were produced for the 6x6 amphibs, but the smooth ones were only used on the front of the El Burro and Amphikitty as far as I remember. I had a 5 horse and a "Super 8" when I was a kid- wheelie machines!
