Someone must have opened the barn doors, there's been a lot of horses popping up lately. At $80, you definitely couldn't go wrong, I would have asked if they knew anyone else with old minibikes they wanted rid of.
That's a sweet find no doubt! Trail Horse minis are at the top of the food chain IMO. This one has it's correct Tecumseh H series engine and the 2 speed Comet clutch set up. Keep us posted.
I would clean it up and do a mechanical resto and leave the original patina.
Yes, that's plan A. Take it a part , replace bearings and chains where needed. Clean it up and reassemble. It needs fenders brake leaver and cable and throttle and cable.
