flywheel key check & replacement

i have a tecumseh HS50-67168C that is not getting spark i was told to check the flywheel key (i guess it is prone to shear off) but i have no clue how to check or replace can any one help me please?

Sheared key would not necessarily kill the spark, but could.
Look at all other possibilities, such as faulty wiring or plug.
Make sure kill wire/switch is working properly and not shorted (grounded) out.

you can see the key without totally pulling off the flywheel just take the bolt and washer/cup off and you can usually tell if thats the problem. but it will have spark even if the key is broken just at the wrong time. Your points are probrobly just dirty so youll have to pull off the flywheel anyway. To clean the points just rub some fine grit wet sanding paper between them and blow it out real clean. the gap is usually fine dont go messing with that if you dont know what your doing
