Fuel Filter Question

#1
Am I correct?

A larger micron fuel filter allows for more fuel flow but less filtration. (bigger pores in filter)
A smaller micron fuel filter allows for less flow but more filtration. (smaller pores in filter)

Briggs recommends their red color 150 micron fuel filter for engines without fuel pumps.
Briggs recommends their clear color 75 micron fuel filter for engines with fuel pumps.
(please correct me if I'm wrong, this is just what I've gathered)

That the 150 micron filter has bigger pores than the 75 micron filter?

I am running a (pulse) fuel pump. Which fuel filter should I use?

What fuel filters do you use for your various applications?

Thank you

What ever I pick up from the local auto parts store. Similar to the Briggs Red, but in a clear plastic.

I would think the reasoning behind the differences is gravity vs suction, for Briggs. All you have is gravity feed on a non fuel pump set up, so less restriction allows more fuel to flow. On a pump set up, it can pull the fuel from the tank easier and at a greater rate, so the more restrictive the filter.

If more filtration is your desire, but you also want large fuel flow, then go with a dual feed tank with two small micron filters.
