That motor of Dave's is a real beauty, that Gem scoop in so cool.

Good thread Don. You got some nice bikes there. I love these bikes, too bad none made there way up to Canada.

These bikes are cool, I think I need to find one for my next bike.

I just noticed none of these bikes have foot pegs:shrug:where do you put your feet?

My old one, came from tomsprops... he bought a collection and there were 3 of these with the same wide forks. I swapped on different forks - now belongs to garysgun:

Notice the pic of 2 of the framesets together

Here's the one I just picked up the week before last as a roller. The engine, seat, and tank are things I had lying around and threw on for the pics:

Some info I got from Tracy Geiger (JTG on here) who has brought some beautiful Flexos to Paul's show 2 years in a row..and he brought different ones each time.

"What you have is a 1962 to 1966 Big Bear Scrambler. All of the original engines used on that frame were two stroke (McCulloch, West Bend or Power Products). Both of the seats they used on that model were the short ones(the flat one & radius one). They did use a long buddy seat for a very short period but it was discontinued. All of these early models came with the Go Power Type I wheels. The Type II came on the later flat mounting plate models and Super Scramblers. The original grips were Jack hammer and the brake lever was a blade type with no ball on the end. The shocks were standard on all models. The earliest models did not have the rear gas tank bracket. They had the front tank bracket as seen on all of Joel Wey's Flexo's. That rear bracket came in about 1964. The foot pegs were the same for all Flexo's. The brake changed about three times. They used two different brakes on the Big Bear Scrambler and one on the Super Scrambler. Most of the Flexo's had two major problems. The first was the shocks, the springs are not secured very well. The second was the tube from the lower frame to the fork neck. It frequently cracked or broke. Hope this information helps."

I'll send him the link to this thread and maybe he'll post up some pics of his...

Here's a pic I took when I had tall and short bar traditional Flexo forks in my possession along with the wide forks that came on the 3 bikes tomsprops bought together.

Last time I talked about the wide forks with JTG he didn't believe they were real Flexo forks due to no suspension, but it is kinda strange that all 3 frames had them...
