H50 Powell Challenger carb recommendation.

#1

Getting this ready for its maiden voyage. What carb do you all like? Slide style PZ27 or the stock bowl type carb? Will be running a throttle cable down to motor and the slide style seems a little easier to route the cable into. Stock 1972 green Tecumseh H50 (199cc) motor with low tone "beer can" generator type exhaust muffler running a belt drive clutch and stock 8" tires. Not really interested in keeping it stock as I dont have the Powell spark arrestor or the original throttle.

I’d run a mikuni vm22 on a stock h50…but that’s just me…I don’t like pz carbs….again just me…but as you will find room is tight under there…good luck and pics would be cool like to see those powells!

Going to try a free brand new PZ19, if it doesn't work, 22's are cheap too. This one has a fuel petcock built into it and a bowl drain. Going to have to make a carb manifold to kick the carb out a little as the choke on this is right inline with the exhaust of the H50. Are these tapped for 3/4 NPT pipe? I was suprised to see threads inside the exhaust port and went back to my GX100 motor and that looked to be threaded for 1/2 with a pipe threaded into it . That one had the PZ17
