Help identifying this Mini Bike Chopper

#22
OK guys...I'm new at this so tell me what you think.

He's firm at $700. Won't budge a bit, but he's owned this since 1979.
Looks like it needs work, but trying to figure out just how butchered it is. I'd be looking to restore it to original so the more that has been modified, the more it will cost or be impossible to fix. So what do you see here? What needs undoing?

Well I'm not an expert on these but it looks like a pretty decent bike. That looks like the original disc brake setup which is huge...a lot of those got taken off and trashed. The seat and sissy pad, hot molded vinyl in metallic purple, were made by a company called Mesinger. This is not the kind of seat you can have somebody make for you, you either have them or you don't and they look pretty nice so that's another big plus. Wheels look good, frame looks straight...Sebac shocks...you'll have to cut off that add on stuff for the foot brake but other than that it looks pretty good. Motor is wrong, I don't think it would have come with a side popper so you'll have to hunt down a vintage H30 or H35 for it.
We don't deal with values on here...if that's the bike from your childhood and it brings back good memories the value is up to you.

any other thoughts
I think KKK nailed it on the bikes condition. $700 is difficult to come up with especially for a bike that'll need some TLC, but if you want a near complete one this may be it. A correct/near correct engine should be easy enough to find. I did the same thing your doing 3 years ago and tracked down my childhood chopper mini bike. I have about $1000 invested in mine and its missing some of the original parts yet. Its all what your willing to spend to reclaim a piece of your childhood. I don't regret the investment I made in mine. Hope that helps.

How hard is sourcing a H35?
Looks like I'd need to fix the foot pegs, patch up the frame where the foot brake gets cut off and repaint.

So everything else looks right?

Sprocket
Engine Mounting Plate
Brake (already mentioned, but I don't remember that spring around the shock)

Well this is getting expensive :(
I think I will have to keep searching for a less expensive one.

Pushing $1,000 just between the bike and motor and still have a lot of work to do to her.

The good news is being in the NE, you're near the plant and there's a good chance of one turning up near you.

That's not an easy bike to find in "all original survivor condition" There are a lot of collectors on here and a lot of bikes and I can't think of anyone offhand that has a perfect example or even a completely restored example.

Iron horse looked for years and I'm not sure he ever found one.

NJMike might have one...I sold him a roller a few years ago..... but a complete all original survivor with original seat, sissy bar, sissy pad, disc brake, front wheel, and a nice straight frame??

Can't tell you what to do, but if that was the bike I was after I would give it some more thought.

There have been two that I know of for sale in the last year. Unfortunately not on OldMiniBikes. One was 100% and one was close. I'd bet that a survivor easy rider 1 sees 4 figures in eBay in today's market.

I currently have this bike up for sale in the classified section. I installed a rebuilt and restored Tecumseh H35 on it. To me the fun is cleaning them up and putting them back together. Going to use the money to fund my Honda Z50 project. Let me know if you are interested. Thanks. 3ADFF17A-2655-46BB-AF9A-D27A7B7AF68C.jpeg
