help with a plastic tank

I purchased a set of decals recently. i cleaned the surface with alcohol. I let it set for about two hours ,to be sure the alcohol was gone. I put them on my plastic gas tank. after about two months the decal has bubbled on both sides. I pulled them off and they smell like gas. on the sticky side. Could gas fumes be seeping out through the sides and causing the problem? Can the gas tank be sealed with tank sealer inside like a metal tank?

The gas goes right through the plastic. Nuthin' is going to stick to that tank, inside or out. That's always been a problem w/plastic motorcycle tanks. One way to make the decals stay on a little longer is to drain the tank between rides.

that sucks! Try poking holes in the decal with a small needle. I hate the plastic tanks, I am going to rip one off my trainer mini because it leaks at the mount. :hammer:
