Frijole frame, rebuild and restore my silver 1963 3hp briggs for it. Get some nice rolling stock for it and have one of the ks8ball seats made for it. Paint it and not powdercoat it because I think I'm over the $1000 by a bit. Get whatever else I need and ride it like I stole it!

I would buy a TACO 22 repop frame, find a nice vintage Briggs 3hp, a set of Azusa TriStars and a TACO purple powdercoat paint job...then I'd finally have the TACO 22 I've wanted for almost 40 years.

...and if I had another $1000, I'd put a Mac91 dual carb engine in it, and have the TACO 22 everybody will be wanting for the next 40 years.

I'd look high and low to find a used one of these...........

Then I'd try to make it street legal as a ""moped"" with lights, horn, blinkers and a 49cc full auto shift engine then after the moped license is applied swap out the engine for a larger one with manual 4 speed or just mod the auto shift engine as far as it can go.
I'd take my chances of a cop not noticing the shift and clutch levers.

Dont know if it could be done for under 1K all depends on the used sikk 125 trail bike price, I have most of the other stuff needed.

This to me would be the best of everything, something that looks cool, fits a grown man, can be ridden on the streets (and offroad) and doesnt need a cycle endorsment because its a moped.(after the mods and inspection)

Its just a dream....it'll never happen.

Actually 1000 isnt really that much for a custom bike or a restored bike? but i guess i would like one of these, but i dont think 1000 would cover the cost of the engines?

How would you spend the money building your new bike? (Type of engine, frame, brake, muffler, etc) Just a fun question.
:scooter:
With as many "old" (like me) bikes that are out there, why buy/build new? If your willing to build a bike, you may as well restore or restomod an "old" one. It's just my opinion but there's a lot more satisfaction bringing one back than just slapping one together from new parts!
