Of all the Coleman 200 models the 200U and 200U EX have the lightest frames. I wouldn't call them strong compared to others. Most reported frame issues over the years have been with the EX.

My 200U's will be 8 years old this fall. They have been used off road only and I haven't had any frame issues, even with the chain guard bracket removed. I do what I can to keep both tires on the ground. They haven't been thrashed hard at all.

The picture of the blue bike is pretty old. That bike now is a strong runner with a built 196 and torque converter. Their suspension kit was a real nice upgrade.

IIRC, the CT200U frame is made of 22mm tubing and has no gusseting/bracing in the steering head area or elsewhere. The newer Taotao manufactured Colemans are made of 34mm tubing and have triangulation (makes structures much stronger) and tubular bracing in the steering head and other areas. So, I would say no, the CT200U is not a strong frame, relatively. It should be fine for normal use but I doubt it would handle much abuse (jumps, rough trails, etc.).

I think that is due to the EX having the suspension fork. I think it's much stronger than the U's fork so the frame bends before the fork when the rider runs into something, the U's fork would probably bend before the frame.
