finally time i posted something like this, wanted to show through what has been a huge learning experience building my motovox. I still have loads to learn but its come so far from when I first picked up the roller a couple years ago.

10/06/21 - frame acquired and test engine mocked up at my school's small engine class

10/12/21 - supplied predator 212 with the first mods (this engine did not take kindly to mods, I was still a bit inexperienced in the realm of modding at this time)

11/03/21 - long gap between pictures because i was having engine running issues, removed governor and chikuni carb on the 212

11/18/21 - my first and bad wiring attempt

11/30/21 - wasn't attached to the frame, but took some pictures while i was testing the lights out

12/25/21 - another gap since I didn't really have much to do at the moment with it, i acquired a tillotson 212 as a christmas gift

01/12/22 - billet rod, hot 265 camshaft, and the chikuni carb from my old 212 installed, it ran great

i then welded the brake bracket so i could fit a hydraulic caliper. shortly after i got the frame shipped off to where my dad works, they powder coated the frame (but i didn't prep the frame beforehand so in the future i want to redo it properly)

02/21/22 - frame came back from powder coat and its so much better

03/03/22 - mega moto seat and the bike finally was able to be ridden again

went on a trip to visit a college that i am currently attending during this gap

03/27/22 - after returning, installed front suspension forks and the ride is so good now

3 months pass as I really was just tuning and riding around my street getting experience on how to handle motorcycles

06/13/22 - tm24 mikuni acquired, the engine stays the same from this point forward

graduated HS and got loads of money to save for college but also to buy a torque converter kit

a week later i would be heading off for my first semester of college, probably my best and most nerve wrecking experience

after completeing the semester, i was home for a month and redid the wiring on the bike after also getting a CDI ignition kit

(new motovox seat acquired as well)

after this short break, went back yet again for the second semester of the year, got some nice gopro pulls over the march break 12-74 gearing

now that the semester is over and that I'm back for the summer, I was already planning to redo the wiring again, so the first week that is what i did

i tried my best to make it all clean and tucked away, and i think I did a pretty good job with that
i also recently bought a HF welder, which works super well
https://imgur.com/B5CjEW8

and used it to weld on some corner brackets from home depot for mounting my new gas tank
https://imgur.com/yAagg7G

recently also inquired on the thread about how to mount a TAV without raising the engine, I had to raise it up using a couple washers to make sure the belt cleared, but it fits and rides great when i took it out today. I will keep updating this thread with more progress and pictures as I keep going through this and learning more about minibikes and how they always continue to surprise me

thanks for sticking through this thread and hope to keep posting for many more projects :)
again, you guys have offered a lot of insight and help to me, i cannot begin to thank yall enough:scooter:

way to go and congratulations on graduating from high school !
I have built a few Motovox 80’s
The sky’s the limit with these little mini’s. I did one up sorta old skool with fenders and such
The one in the foreground is my 80…the one behind it is a megamoto 80 this one’s a little hot rod. I built both of the motors with a little “hot sauce” if you will. I am happy to see you getting excited about your mini
I know that a high schooler budget can be “challenging “ when hobbies enter the picture
I am pretty settled financially so I throw lots of money at my projects and have many spare parts that might help you along. If you want to get in touch with me I’ll be glad to share !
Keep up the great work…study hard and keep us posted

definately so, I'm trying to push as much as I can out of this little frame... soon trying my hand at a swingarm, hopefully it goes well

Great work man! The best way to learn is to just jump into it and figure out as go. Live and learn from mistakes.
yeah thats definately what I did with this project.. it turned out pretty good i think over the course of the years ive been working on it... i got into this from youtube and a small engine class my high school offered, gave me a chance to learn how they worked (especially since the first project was tearing down a brand new 212 predator)

she rides great too, short ride through where i live and snapped a nice photo as well
i do plan to get a amazon silencer for state trails, since I cannot figure out any proper trail near me to ride unfortunately... only just neighborhood roadsgets stale after a while and i want to learn more on how to ride off-road
CT is very bike unfriendly though which makes it hard 20230524_093828.png
