That bike is in pretty good shape for a survivor are you going the clean it up real good ? Or totally restore ? They are only original once you know....Good Luck to you !

was going to completely redo it, but the more I look at it, it really just needs washed, its filthy! think ill just get the seat redone and leave it alone. PO say it needs a clutch because it takes off as soon as you start it....? Just got it home a couple hours ago and haven't played with it yet,maybe tomorrow. Am I right on the year?

Not for sure on the year....but I think thats right. I'm like you I would clean, polish & scrub it up first....maybe paint or touch up something that might need a little love...and then see what you got ! You've got a very nice survivor there ! :thumbsup::thumbsup:

I've never had a bike with a belt, so I'm not sure if it is suppose to be that way to keep tension on the belt?
If they are supposed to be lined up, I'd say the front pulley is on backwards? or the bigger pulley is pushed in too far?

It looks like there is also a spacer on the first pulley between the pulley and the engine. Sorry, I don't think my comments helped, I'm just rambling. :eek:ut:

send Manchester1 your seat and have her work her magic on it. She may be able to work with what you have to "refurbish" it. She does great work.

I'm with 45t...I don't think the bushing is suppose to be behind the pulley/clutch on the engine. It needs to be taken out of there...especially if its a true torque converter.

That is how a torque converter is suppose to work by sliding in and out....but it has to have some kind of centrifical spring system to make it close up....and I'm not seeing that on yours.

exactly...theres a clutch on the rear pulley. I know how its supposed to work, just never messed with one.didnt think this looked correct. think ill get one of those aftermarket TC setups...

Yep...I just bought one off ebay, you can buy the whole setup for like $75.00 and free shipping....I believe that would be your best bet. You will need to know the size of the engine shaft for the torque converter and the size of your jack shaft shaft for the driven or rear pulley.... or you can use there total set up that they sell...might be your best bet.
